Face Aging and Recast

1.Face Aging

Face Aging has a wide range of applications, such as face recognition, searching for lost children, and entertainment.  Face aging is a very challenging problem, as appearance changes can be due to both internal and external factors.  This project studies these changes that occur during the aging process.   Based on features extracted from a large database of face images across different ages, we can build a mathematical model and develop a system to simulate this process.  Our research areas include the representation and understanding of a face image, anthropometry of the face, the modeling and computer synthesis of skin wrinkles, the extraction of high level semantics of the face, and artistic rendering .

2 .Face Recasting

An important part of face synthesis,  face recasting studies what a face would be like if the subject had a different profession, were of a different gender, were a film star, etc. Based on the results we can study the effects of non-facial factors on the perception of the human face.  In addition the technique can be used in entertainment.
